Still, overall they made a very nice lunch and we're looking forward to many returns here.Ī new location just opened up in Kingstowne. They could also have been a bit more generous with the toppings - there was a nice portion of cilantro and raw onion on each, but just a sliver of radish in one taco, none in the others, and a tiny lime wedge to share across my takeout order of 5 (which included my wife's two chicken taco order). All were tasty, though I found the meat of the pork and beef tacos drier than those of my standard bearer for Tacos around here, Taqueria Distrito Federal. ![]() So I was heartened to see Pica pretty slammed with patrons at lunch today. The previous occupant of this space was a small mom and pop Middle Eastern place whose name I can't remember that, unfortunately, never seemed to have any customers in it. It's just one of those blocks nearby I never seem to drive or walk by. I was really happy I saw this thread, because otherwise it would have been weeks before I found the Pica Taco location on Florida, even though I live a block and a half away. ![]() But the tongue at Pica Taco trumped them both by far. I remember the one I had at Distrito Federal a few months ago being better. I also tried a fish taco-I didn't think it was anything special. Here's some more info from Prince of Petworth. Plus, to celebrate the grand opening of restaurant #2, tacos are "buy one, get one free" through Saturday. But after eating a lengua taco at the new location of Pica Taco tonight, and liking it so very much I immediately ordered another and am now plotting the soonest I can go back, I can say that I am sold. I'd only tried tongue once before, and I was not a huge fan. He said that the lengua tacos were really good, even if you don't like tongue. I've been wanting to visit Pica Taco ever since Tim Carman discussed the original location a few times back in November of last year. NW, and a second location just opened 1406 Florida Ave. There are two locations: the first is in the Argonne apartment building at 1629 Columbia Rd. I don't believe there is a topic for Pica Taco yet. ![]()
